Born in Bedford and raised in Bath; Joseph has an MA in Music Performance and is a concert pianist and teacher based now just outside Bath. Music and the Piano have been an important part of his life and as a child he always chose to practice the piano outside of school. It wasn't until Joseph had lessons with pianist, teacher and Alumni of L'école Normale de Musique de Paris, Keith Everett, that Joseph's passion and talent for the piano was propelled.
After taking an Acting degree at Bath Spa University Joseph found work as an accompanist touring the UK. It was when he settled in back in Bath, in 2018, that he was asked to manage a music school and teach the piano. Joseph was inspired and in 2021 began his MA in Music Performance at Bath Spa University. Joseph has had the opportunity to be taught by talented performers and teachers including; Graham Fitch, Charles Wiffen, Helen Reid and Maria Garcia.
In 2022, Joseph gave a recital in tribute to pianist Josef Hofmann (1876-1957) as part of Bath's Sparkfest festival, which brought together works by Rachmaninoff, Rubinstein, Moszkowski and Hofmann himself with a live host and archive film footage.
In concert; Joseph is able to bring his vast knowledge and interest in the styles, repertoire and performance skills held by the great concert artists of the 20th Century while still managing to remain current. Joseph's repertoire is varied, his particular favourites include Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Scarlatti and other more rarely performed composers such as Moszkowski and Anton Rubinstein.
